Our Town

Our Town: Hollidaysburg production meeting.

Posted by Charlie G on 04/14 at 04:10 PM

Twenty-eight volunteers attended the Our Town: Hollidaysburg planning meeting on Monday night. Volunteers came to find out more about Our Town: Hollidaysburg, a special public television program produced by and about the town of Hollidaysburg. The volunteers suggested several topics for the program, to be produced this Saturday, the April 18th. There was a lot of enthusiasm about their town.

Topics such as the historic district, the YMCA, and music and drama in the schools, topped the list. The Our Town format allows the volunteers from the town to decide what topics are important to produce. Others topics that were chosen were the history of the canals near Hollidaysburg, Discovery Gardens in Legion Park and Chimney Rocks. The videotaping for the program will be done by the volunteers themselves. Each volunteer is also interviewed about their topic. WPSU then will edit all of the segments together. The final version will be broadcast on Thursday June 4th at 8pm on WPSU. So watch out for all of the people who will be running around town this Saturday videotaping all sort of different things.
