Classical Music

Music by Handel on WPSU-FM today.

Posted by Kristine A. on 04/14 at 08:07 AM

George Friedric Handel died on an Easter Sunday, 250 years ago on this date, April 14th.

As mentioned on Morning Edition this morning, Handel was a famous and beloved composer at the time of his death, and was buried in London’s Westminster Abbey with about 3,000 people in attendance.  We’re featuring music by Handel during classical music today on WPSU-FM, until 3:00 this afternoon.  We’ll hear some of his “Water Music”, “Music for the Royal Fireworks”, music from his oratorio, “Messiah”, and more.
