Free Books!

Want a free book? Ever fantasize about being a public radio host?  You can fulfill both wishes. You’re invited to be a reviewer for BookMark—and we have two new books, just in, that are in need of reviwers.

The first is “Bacardi and the Long Fight for Cuba,” by NPR reporter Tom Gjelten.  The book focuses on the Bacardi family (of rum-making fame) and how their business history is entwined with the history of their nation.  This was a Washington Post, Kansas City Chronicle, and San Francisco Chronicle “Best Book of the Year.”  The Wall Street Journal called it “a gripping saga.”

The second is"World War II: In Their Own Words,” by Brian Lockman. It’s an oral history of WWI, as told by veterans who are from Pennsylvania—based on the award-winning television series from Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN).  We’d love to put a review of this book on the air for Veteran’s Day.

If you’d like to review either book for us (or, suggest another book)  just go to the BookMark website,  http://wpsu.org/radio/program/bookmark and click on “write a review.”

Reviews for BookMark are about 450 words (that’s about two typed pages).  And, you’d get to visit the WPSU studios to record your review!

Hope to hear from you
