WPSU Set To Hear Stories From Indiana County For “Our Town”

The 67th episode of the “Our Town” series will feature Indiana County, last visited in 1998 for this program. We’re excited to hear what’s changed, and what’s stayed the same. There is so much to see in this gorgeous community. Home of world famous actor Jimmy Stewart, known as the “Christmas Tree Capital of the World”, with the heritage and community of the IUP campus, Indiana County offers endless story possibilities for this program.  We want to know more! Share your stories as part of this program — join us for the community meeting on Thursday, May 31 at the IUP Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex at 6:30 p.m.

Anyone interested in the production is invited to attend.

At the meeting, local Indiana residents will discuss which landmarks, events and local stories to feature in the upcoming program. WPSU-TV will answer questions about the project during the meeting and ask community members to volunteer as storytellers to do their part to help tell the Indiana story. The volunteer storytellers will work with WPSU-TV to capture video and still photos to feature in the upcoming documentary.

WPSU-TV hopes to recruit 20 to 25 enthusiastic Indiana County residents. There are no restrictions as to age, or experience and no cost to participate, just a willingness to be part of the project. WPSU is recruiting longtime residents and those who recently joined the community to help highlight what makes their town special.
