Penn State Public Broadcasting’s Tom Keiter and Stephanie Ayanian have been selected to receive the 2008 American Association of Engineering Societies Engineering Journalism Award for their work on the 90-minute documentary,  Liquid Assets: The Story of Our Water Infrastructure. Keiter, executive producer, and Ayanian, senior producer/director, will be presented with the award on April 20, 2009, at a ceremony in Washington, DC.

The award recognizes outstanding reporting of an event or issue that furthers public understanding of engineering. Former recipients include members of the Washington Post, FORTUNE Magazine, and Chicago Tribune.

The award citation recognizes Keiter and Ayanian’s “outstanding reporting about aging water infrastructure in the United States, and for helping the American public understand the critical needs for engineering’s role ahead.”
