Movin’ On Battle of Bands: Saturday, March 31st 9PM at Alumni Hall

This Saturday, March 31st starting at 9PM, Movin’ On’s Battle of Bands will take place.  It will be held at Alumni Hall in the HUB at Penn State.  Twelve bands are competing, but only 2 will be selected to join the the lineup of major acts of the festival on April 27th.  The winners will join The Avett Brothers, Ludacris, David Mayfield Parade, Michael Franti and Spearead, and Young the Giant.

The bands will be selected based audience response, and the combined scores of guest judges.  Guest judges include Becky Gomberg, Vocal Director of Savior Faire A Cappella group, Whitney Schmutter, 2011 Penn State Idol Winner, the B94.5 Morning Zoo, and Paul Barsom, composition professor at the School of Music.

Each band has 15 minutes to perform original material.  The line-up and schedule of bands includes:

Dave Joyce Band - 9:00PM
Atlas Soundtrack - 9:15PM
One Shot Nicky - 9:30PM
Crooked Oaks - 9:45PM
Free Rollercoaster - 10:00PM
Brethern - 10:15PM
Element of Surprise - 10:30PM
Hustle The Nobles - 10:45PM
Flashback Forward - 11:00PM
Wondershop Showdown - 11:15PM
Ebenezer now known as Michael and Mooncussers - 11:30PM
Keegan Tawa - 11:45PM
