Our Town
WPSU Brings Next Our Town Program to Nanty Glo!

Jessica Peters and I have begun making contacts with people in Nanty Glo, PA as we prepare to kick off the 65th episode of the series. We’ll be traveling to the area this week to start planning some of the details of the project with some community leaders and we can sense some enthusiasm around the program. We’ll be announcing community-wide events and meetings very soon, so stay tuned for that info. This project is all about bringing the residents of the area together and we want everyone to know they’re invited to participate in the project.
We want to hear your stories about your hometown. We are looking for residents of the area—who’ve lived there all their lives, or even a short while, but who have a great enthusiasm to see your town shine in this program. Just stay tuned…there’s much more to come in the next few weeks. We look forward to learning all about Nanty Glo!

nanty glo
I just wondered if anyone made your orginazation aware of the M.G. Ragley Lumber Co. that existed in Nanty Glo from 1935 until it was burned down by two younger boys over the Labor Day Weekend in 1974. The business was closed at a tempory office in 1976. More of this history is available. Thanks! Bill Ragley
