Local Music and United Way Benefit

Posted by Charlee Redman on 04/05 at 11:30 PM

A benefit concert for Haiti, hosted by the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences, will be held in Alumni Hall (in the HUB) from 11am - 2pm on Thursday. There’s a suggested donation of $3, which will go straight to the folks at the United Way for their relief operations in Haiti and Chile through the Worldwide Disaster Fund.

The event will feature five student bands, each with a half-hour set, and a speech from Alain Bonny, president of Project Haiti. Between British Phil’s “swamp troll rock”, honey-sweet acoustic ballads crooned by Zak Sobel, and the funky alt-rock group North of Nittany, there’s a little something for everyone.

Stop by between classes or over lunch to support a good cause through music!

Concert Schedule - Thursday April 8th
HUB Alumni Hall

11:00 am - The Exclusive Document
11:30 am - North of Nittany
12:00 pm - British Phil
12:30 pm - Alain Bonny
1:00 pm - Zak Sobel
1:30 pm - Papa Papaya
