Easter's just around the corner!

This week’s Local Food Notes features Mike McGrath’s weekend appearances to benefit WPSU, Way Fruit Farm’s Easter hams and baked goods and how to order them, how Tait Farm can help make your Easter table shine, and a fantastic music set at Elk Creek Cafe and Aleworks Saturday night.

- Attention gardeners who love public radio! Tickets are still available for two events featuring Mike McGrath, of You Bet Your Garden fame, that benefit WPSU. He will be part of a dinner tonight at the Atherton Hotel, and will give a talk tomorrow morning at the State Theater. Information and tickets can be found here.

- Way Fruit Farm is taking orders for Easter hams and baked goods, including their fantastic pies and hams from locally raised hogs. You can place orders by stopping by the farm out near Stormstown.

- Want to make a fantastic Easter table centerpiece? On Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Tait Farm will have floral artisan Gretchen Staff demonstrate how to make living Easter basket creations for your table or just as a nice home decoration for the season.

- Local food, local brew, great music…sounds like a Saturday night plan. You can check out the Way Down Wanderers Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at Elk Creek Cafe and Aleworks.  Their people tell us they’re “equal parts fast-paced and soulful, 5-piece modern-folk Americana act, The Way Down Wanderers, draw listeners in with energy, originality and soulful generosity.” Interested?
