Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk Plays State Theatre Tonight

The New Orleans-based funk band attributed as Ivan Nevilleâ€™s Dumpstaphunk will play The State Theatre tonight, Wednesday, February 23rd. The show begins at 8 p.m. with State Collegeâ€™s own reggae/rock band, Atlas Soundtrack, opening the night.

Dumpstaphunk formed on a whim in 2003 when keyboardist and vocalist, Ivan Neville, wanted to play a set at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Turns out, the bandâ€™s idea of a side-project became the New York Timesâ€™ â€œbest funk band from New Orleans.â€ Come check out the five talented musicians and you, too, will be absorbed in some of Louisianaâ€™s authentic essence.

Bio: [Alex] is currently a senior double majoring in Print Journalism and International Studies with a double minor in Music Technology and French. Alex also loves using music programs like Logic Pro to mix, modulate and place different effects on songs, which is why electronic/techno and dubstep play an essential factor in her everyday life.
