Posted by Jessica Gold on 09/20 at 01:59 PM
Looking for new albums to listen to while you’re relaxing, doing homework, or working out? Well, here are four albums that will definitely have you singing along with the lyrics. These new releases range in genre, but all are well put together according to Billboard and music critics.
Ariana Grande’s album Your’s Truly was released on September 3rd. This Nickelodeon star shows off her vocal abilities and a new, grown woman image. She is definitely breaking away from child star roots and is blossoming into an awesome musician. Your’s Truly includes the singles “The Way” and “Baby I.” Grande’s album debuted at number one on the Billboard chart this week, with 138,000 copies sold although it was leaked before it’s release date. Be sure to take a listen to her album available in stores and on iTunes now!
The diva herself, Tamar Braxton, released her 2nd solo album, Love and War on September 3rd. It debuted at no. 2 on the Billboard chart this week, with 114,000 albums sold. Her album was also no. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Braxton’s single “Love and War” set the female record for the longest time between an initial chart listing and a first no. 1 in this chart’s Soundscan era. Support her by purchasing and listening to her album.
G.O.O.D. Music’s own, Big Sean released his sophomore debut album, Hall of Fame on August 27th. The album includes singles “Gwap,” “Fire,” and “Beware” featuring Lil Wayne and Jhene Aiko. Big Sean recruited many other big names in the industry to accompany him on Hall of Fame. The list includes: 2 Chains, Nas, Kid Cudi, Miguel, Nicki Minaj, Juicy J, Young Jeezy, James Fauntleroy and Meek Mill. According to Spin, Big Sean’s album is underrated and should be taken more seriously. Want to form your own opinion? Pick up your own copy. It’s available in stores and on iTunes now.
Somber and sweet voiced, John Legend’s new album, Love in the Future debuted at No.4 on the Billboard 200 chart. This is his first album since Evolver in 2008. Legend’s album includes “All of Me” and lead single “Made to Love.” His song “Another Again” describes the pleasure of being with the same woman instead of cheating. If you enjoy romantic, sultry music, this is the album for you.
