Radio Interview: Effects of the Pennsylvania Budget on Penn State – Tuesday, July 6, at 7:33 and 8:33 during Morning Edition – The Pennsylvania state budget is waiting on Governor Ed Rendell’s desk for him to sign.  StateCollege.com’s Adam Smeltz has been following the impact the budget will have on Penn State.  WPSU’s Emily Reddy talks to Smeltz about what University employees and students can expect. 

WPSU-FM’s This I Believe – Thursday at 5:45pm and Sunday at 9:00pm – This week’s essayist is Brandon Ritchey, a middle school student in Roaring Spring.  He believes in the Mario Lemieux.

TV: NOVA – Tuesday, 8pm – “Missing in MiG Alley” – The Korean War air battles between the American F-86 Sabre and the Soviet MiG-15 are recalled via archival footage, comments from American and Soviet pilots and dramatic reconstructions. (Also airs Friday, 10pm)

TV: David Suchet on the Orient Express: A Masterpiece Special – Wednesday, 8pm – A ride on the modern-day Orient Express with David Suchet (“Poirot”). (Also airs Thursday, 10pm & Sunday, 10:30pm.)

TV: BBC Horizon – Thursday, 9pm – “The Truth About Violence” – Factors that contribute to violence are examined, including the role brain chemicals play in controlling aggression, why sleepless nights can contribute to outbursts and the link between brain damage and domestic violence. (Also airs Sunday, 11:30pm.)

TV: Masterpiece Mystery! – Sunday, 9pm – “Poirot: Murder on the Orient Express” – Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express,” in which a London-bound Hercule Poirot (David Suchet) investigates the death of an American businessman (Toby Jones)—-who’d asked him for protection—-on a train that’s stuck in a snowdrift
