Posted by Jamie Oberdick on 08/14, 2015 at 10:24 AM
Bellefonte Arts and Craft Fair, State College Brew Expo, Tait Farm’s Annual Tomato Festival, and an award-winning meal at Harrison’s Wine Grill and Catering highlight this week’s Local Food Notes.
- The Bellefonte Arts and Crafts Fair is happening today and Saturday in one of Centre County’s hidden gems, Tallyrand Park. Enjoy a variety of art and craft vendors, local food product vendors like Big Al’s Mustards and Village Eating House, and perhaps have a local food lunch such as a roast pork sandwich made with local pork from Scott’s Roasters. There will be live music, too. Click here for details.
- Otto’s Pub and Brewery will be among the offerings at the annual State College Brew Expo, held once again at Tussey Mountain Ski Resort on Saturday evening. Along with samples of all kinds of great brews, there will be food for purchase and live music, There are two levels of tickets, regular and VIP. Proceeds support the Coaches vs. Cancer charity and tickets can be purchased here.
- From preserving to tossing, Tait Farm is offering an afternoon of tomato-centered events during their Annual Tomato Festival tomorrow from 1:00-4:00 p.m. A few of the features include: Chef Harrison from Harrison’s Wine Grill offering a Freestyle Tomato Cooking Demo, Suzanne Grieb demonstrating three ways to preserve tomatoes, and Cindy Tait Law making Sun Gold Tomato Pesto. Plus, they will have fall seedlings for sale.
- Speaking of Chef Harrison, he won last week’s Golden Basket Awards…so treat yourself and loved ones to dinner Harrison’s Wine Grill and Catering and find out why he’s an award-winner. They are currently offering their Italian Summer—Island of Capri dinner menu.
