Pennsylvania Inside Out: Transrace Adoption
Pennsylvania Inside Out: Transrace Adoption
Adopting or providing foster care across races--or Transrace--is somewhat of a Catch-22. A child in need becomes part of a loving family, but there are many challenges beyond basic "child rearing." Joining us tonight to examine some of those challenges--and some of the solutions--are Penn State graduate student Jessica Hoyt, whose research includes the project: "Life After Adoption: Caring for African American Children's Hair and Skin." Also with us this evening is Kathy Kalinoski--a Transrace adoptive parent from central Pennsylvania who participated in Jessica's research.
