Henry A. Giroux and Susan Searls Giroux, co-authors of Take Back Higher Education: Race, Youth and the Crisis of Democracy, assert that there's a right-wing attack on higher education.  No longer is a college education viewed as a public good, designed to educate students as citizens in a democratic society.  Instead, corporate interests are refashioning colleges and universities in the image of the marketplace.
