Pennsylvania's medical malpractice situation is said to be one of the worst in the nation. The Pew Charitable Trusts established the Project on Medical Liability in Pennsylvania to investigate causes and develop potential solutions. William Sage, M.D., of Columbia University, is director of the project. Sage is a licensed physician with a degree in law and is recognized nationally as an expert in health law.
