15 Minutes: First Amendment
15 Minutes: First Amendment
The First Amendment is one of the corner stones of the Bill of Rights protecting the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference. Today, the First Amendment is being challenged: in public schools, on college campuses, on web sites, by the Patriot Act, violence in video games and the FCC's long look at indecency and profanity on the public airwaves. Robert D. Richards, is professor of journalism and law at Penn State and co-director of Pennsylvania Center for the First Amendment.
