Pennsylvania Inside Out: Emerging Viruses, Water

Host David Price interviews Edward Holmes, a Penn State biology professor who recently spoke in the Penn State Lectures on the Frontier of Science's five-part series called "Change Happens: Understanding How Living Things Evolve."   Holmes' lecture was entitled "Emerging Viruses: A Continual Threat." Holmes' joins the program with thoughts on emerging viruses and the threats they pose today. This episode will also feature a sneak peak at a new WPSU-TV documentary entitled "Water: An Endangered Resource" (airing Feb. 10). This segment will feature a conversation with producer Jerry Sawyer, who spent more than two years researching the damage of acid mine drainage on Pennsylvania waterways and the progress being made.
