Using the language of a poet and the eye of a scientist, writer Alison Hawthorne Deming has won numerous awards, fellowships, and a nomination for a Pulitzer Prize. She talks about her life, career and the need for a sense of place within the natural world. She will serve as the first writer-in residence for the Penn States Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing.
