Take Note: Abandoned Generation
Take Note: Abandoned Generation
According to Penn State social critic Henry Giroux, young people are no longer seen as the future of a democratic society. Instead, he says, there’s a war on in the U.S. and America’s youth are the target. Has American society failed its children and its commitment to democracy? Henry Giroux is Waterbury Chair professor of secondary education at Penn State and author of numerous books that critique the U.S. political and popular culture’s influence on the lives of children. His most recent book is The Abandoned Generation, published by Palgrave Press.
