15 Minutes: Penn State's 150th

In 1855, Pennsylvania Governor William Pollock signed the charter that created what is today The Pennsylvania State University. Initially a small college dedicated to the study of scientific agriculture, Penn State was designated the Commonwealth’s sole land-grant institution in 1863 and has grown to become one of the world’s most distinguished public universities. Lee Stout, university archivist, talks about Penn State’s history and plans for the Sesquicentennial celebration from July1, 2004 through June 30, 2005.
