WPSU Looking Forward to Returning to Huntingdon for “Our Town” in February/March

Posted by Whitney on 12/17 at 09:47 AM

In 1997, WPSU visited Huntingdon for the 3rd installment of it’s “Our Town” series. As we get ready to return to this beautiful community along the Juniata River, this will be the 71st episode since the series began in 1996. We’ll be looking for stories about the people, places, happenings—past and present. What makes this community special? What brings everyone together? We want to hear all about the pride that neighbors share for Huntingdon and their surroundings. What’s changed since we last visited? What’s remained the same?

We’ll be looking for 25-30 storytellers select a subject or event to videotape. The volunteers will work together with WPSU to videotape footage that will be used in a documentary all about your hometown. There are no restrictions as to age or experience and no cost to participate, just a willingness to be part of the project.

Anyone who is interested in being a videographer and/or storyteller for the program should contact WPSU producer, Whitney Chirdon, at 814-863-6634 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).  We’ll be posting information about a community meeting on our website and around Huntingdon in February and March. Stay tuned for those details!

As central Pennsylvania’s public television station serving a very large geographic area, the “Our Town” project was developed in an effort to involve the communities and their residents with WPSU-TV. The “Our Town” series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives, and possibilities that local towns have to offer.
